Transporteur was a dry cargo carrying barge that plied the Dutch coast and canals until the early 1960s. Originally powered by a 1909 single cylinder Kromhout hot bulb air start engine, which sadly passed away in 2006.The main hold area has had all 20 of its lift off roof ( hold covers ) replaced at a cost of £10.000 in 2008, to retain its history and character.
A cosy double!
This is the original Captains cabin, still retaining its own companion way to the foredeck. This cabin is fitted with its own fire, sitting area and bunk under the stairway. Still fitted with its original cupboards and access to remainder of the accommodation, there is 12volt lighting and 240 sockets.
A double birthed cabin with fitted wardrobe and airing cupboard with hot water cylinder. This cabin has a 240volt trouser press on the wall, there is a 2.500 litre pump out tank below the bunk. 12volt lighting and 240 sockets.
One single bunk with chest of draws, cold water tank ( one of two ) beneath birth, this also has 12volt lighting, and 240 socket.
Fitted with pump out toilet, wash basin with medicine cabinet above. Full sized bath with shower attachment and heated towel rail. 12volt lighting and 240 volt to 12volt shaver point.
Galley / Salon :
This is a large open plan space with plenty of work tops and storage in the galley, which has a double drain sink unit, gas water heater, gas hob with grill over, dishwasher and fridge. In the salon part of this space is a very pretty multi fuel Esse Ironheart Range which provides hot water, heating and of course for the keen cook 2 hot plates and oven cooking does not get better than this !!
There are plenty of 12volt lights, 12volt sockets as well as a number of 240 sockets.
In a very spacious engine room, with a ceiling height of approx 7 foot is the main engine, an early Gardener 4LW 15 litre engine, which was completely overhauled prior to installation. Sounds beautiful and starts before its even done one revolution! When not connected on shore power, there is a Ruggerini powered silent gerarator, which when run with the Vectron inverter charger gives an impressive 6KVA. There are a host of batteries from Vectron domestics, to 12volt for lights, and crank batteries. There is also 12volt lights, 240volt light, and 240 sockets.
This is a large, but unused space with its own stairway from the stern deck.
There are port holes to both Port, and Starboard, and also 2 to the stern.
