Bowmont was built at Tewkesbury in around 1970. It has dual controls; one set in a centre wheelhouse with wheel steering, the other set on the back deck with tiller steering. The hull is steel, with a marine ply and fibreglass superstructure. The interior, which is largely as originally fitted out, was professionally constructed by the boatbuilder in a traditional river cruiser layout. The engine is a BMC 1500 marinised by JG Meakes. Transmission is through a PRM 140 gearbox.
In the front cabin there are two quarter berths (which can also be used as a double cross-bed), a washbasin and wardrobe. The main cabin is a kitchen and dinette (which converts into a double berth), and behind the wheelhouse is a toilet and washbasin in one cabin and a separate shower. Behind that is a sitting room, the sofa making a single bed. There is gas heating and hot water from a calorifier. Lighting is mainly 12v LED.
The vessel has been rather neglected by us over the last few years and could do with some modernisation. The hull was drydocked and checked by a boat builder in 2015, and apart from blacking and new anodes (which were both done), we were told no other work was required. and the BSS certificate expires in September 2018.
We are open to any reasonable offer .
