Point 65N - Tequila GTX
These unique sit-on-top Kayaks are designed to divide into smaller pieces, for easier transport and storage. But the even more clever feature is that the bow and stern sections can be used with or without the optional middle section, making a two-piece one person kayak, or a three-piece two-person kayak.
The already popular design has been further improved for 2014 with the addition of Point 65's New super-comfy AIR seat and some tweaks tonthe hull design to give better straight-line tracking.

The Point 65N Tequila! "sit-on-top" kayaks are uniquely designed in interlocking sections, for easier transport and storage. No need for a trailer, no struggling with a roof rack - they will go inside many cars/camper vans/caravans. With the three sections joined together they make a 14ft tandem kayak, capable of carrying two adults, or you can leave out the middle to make a two-piece 10ft one-person kayak.
Yes, the same kayak can be a tandem one minute, and a solo the next! You can buy it with or without the middle section, adding it later if you wish.
The sections will fit inside many cars, or through camper/caravan doors, for easy transport. The largest piece is 5ft 7" long by 2ft 6". The compact size of the individual pieces also means they can be stored in the corner of your shed or garage, inside a beach hut (reducing the risk of theft), under the stairs at home, or even in a large cupboard. It makes boat ownership a realistic prospect for almost anyone, even those who live in city flats - the pieces will go in a lift and at approx 25-lb (11kg) each they are easy to carry.
For those with a yacht or motorboat the sectional kayak pieces will often fit through hatchways, so you can store them out of the way inside the cabin, on a bunk etc. Or in the tender garage at the stern, if you have one. They are a great way to exercise and could even be used as a somewhat "different" second tender.
Assembly is very straightforward - slide the sections together and hold in place with the ski-boot-binding style ratchet straps.
We've found these kayaks are very easy to use and incredibly stable, but also fast for sit-on-tops. Quite simply, they are a good design, regardless of their sectional nature.
Wearing a buoyancy aid, with adult supervision and a safety boat present, we've even had a seven year old paddling around a (calm) lake with confidence. She had never taken a boat out on her own before and we're not sure who was more proud, parents or child!
