    <p>Originally built by Blackstones of Bideford, Devon in 1949 as a Trinity House general service launch, her robust construction and attractive lines made her ideal for conversion into this gaff rigged motor sailer.&nbsp;&nbsp;She has been built to an exacting standard and the previous owners have authentically rigged her in every detail.&nbsp; She was stripped to a bare hull and entirely re-built by her previous owner between 1999 and 2005, since when she has been cruising the West Coast of Scotland.&nbsp;Years of boat building and sailing experience are well demonstrated in the design, construction and quality of finish.&nbsp; She is a stunning vessel and must be seen to fully appreciate what is truly a work of art.</p>

    <p>The accommodation is 5/6 berths in 3 cabins with 1 heads.</p><p>The Forecabin - Double 'V' berth with shelves outboard and storage underneath.</p><p>Saloon Access - The saloon is accessed from the aft pilothouse via a low passageway on the stbd side.&nbsp; There is a raised shelf to the hullside of this corridor and electrical switch panel opposite.</p><p>Saloon - This is a lovely bright cabin with white wood panelling teak wood dining table and galley tops.&nbsp; There is thoughtful detail in fixtures and fittings and good storage, including attractive cupboards and open book shelves.&nbsp; The galley is situated to stbd and aft in the saloon.</p><p>Galley - A practical 'L' shaped galley with good storage for provisions and galley equipment.&nbsp; There is a SMEV stainless steel 2 burner cooker with grill and oven, sink with manual fresh water system and ice box.&nbsp; The work surfaces are in a beautiful rich varnished teak and the cupboards are practical and attractive; there is even a dedicated shallow racked cupboard for cooking spices.</p><p>Heads - The heads are situated to port opposite the galley with marine flushing toilet and wash basin with manual fresh water system.</p><p>Aft Pilthouse - The aft Pilothouse is accessed from the cockpit and has a single pilot berth to port under the side deck which can convert to a double berth for in-port use.&nbsp; Opposite to stbd is a hanging locker with self-draining gas bottle locker at the aft end (CORGI certified fit).&nbsp; This are can convert to a single berth.&nbsp; There is also a large central forward facing chart table, the ships instrumentation and access to the under cockpit lazarette.</p><p>The structure internally is substantial yet the carpentry and the choice of teak for surfaces and trims and the T/G panelling leaves the boat feeling light, airy with a subtle amount of class.</p><ul><li>Refleks traditional diesel heater.</li><li>JVC radio/CD player.</li><li>Dark blue upholster.</li><li>6' 2" + headroom.</li></ul>

    <p>&nbsp;</p><p>Ford Sabre 6 cylinder 120hp Diesel Engine fresh water cooled with heat exchanger, supplied as re manufactured unit (commissioned in 2004). Single lever engine controls. Shaft drive via a 2:1 PRM gearbox to 24"x18" 3 blade prop. Fuel consumption is approx. 4.5-5lts/hr @ 6-6.5kts<br />The engine is housed centrally with good access which is almost walk in.</p><ul><li>Rudder and steering gear, proppeller and shaft all renewed during rebuild.</li><li>New engine beds constructed to accommodate Ford Sabre engine.</li><li>12v System</li><li>Bosch 100amp alternator charging 2 x Elecsol 220amp batteries.</li><li>Shore Power.</li></ul>
    <p>&nbsp;</p><p>Gaff cutter rig -<br /><strong>Main Mast -</strong> The main mast is varnished solid Finnish pine and is deck stepped strongly rigged in authentic traditional style.&nbsp; New 2012.<br /><br /><strong>Main Boom -</strong> Varnished, hollow, Douglas fir boom with traditional timber jaws round the mast, sheeted on the aft deck with a traditional triple block tackle. There is a substantial timber boom crutch.<br /><br /><strong>Gaff -</strong> Varnished spruce gaff with traditional jaws <br /><strong>Rigging -</strong> The main mast rigging is hand spliced 13mm galvanised steel wire with galvanised rigging screws fixed to external galvanised steel chain plates. Twin lowers and cap shrouds with traditional ratlines between the stbd stays. Running back stays on tackles. Stemhead fore stay and inner fore stay to fore deck.The running rigging is Gleistein Classic with varnished wooden blocks.</p><p><strong>Sails -</strong></p><ul><li>Jecklls Sails 2005 in very good condition.</li><li>Mainsail:-361 sq.ft</li><li>Staysail:-120 sq.ft</li><li>Jib:-180:-180 sq.ft</li><li>Cruising chute:- 820 sq.ft</li></ul>
    <h3>Deck & Safety Equipment</h3>
    <p>Tiller steering from the cockpit with a traditional bronze pin rail for adjusting/fixing the helm. The cockpit is deep and safe and has good large seat lockers on each each side. The companionway hatch to the pilothouse is beautifully fashioned with Teak sliding hatch and double doors + wash-boards for heavy weather.<br />The side decks are wide and easily navigated and there is a cross deck walk through between the forward and aft dog house.     <p>&nbsp;</p><p>Planked in Larch, all copper nailed and bronze screw fastened to heavy oak frames. <br />Long external lead ballast keel with bronze bolts through oak floors and new Iroko keelson. <br />New deck and deck houses constructed during re-build in Marine Plywood sheathed in glass fibre woven cloth, epoxy resin coated. <br />Teak bulwark capping, cockpit coaming cappings, hatches, handrails, tiller, etc. <br />Tiller steering to aerofoil section, oil-filled steel rudder.<br /><strong>Summary of work carried out during rebuild listed below.</strong></p><ul><li>Removal of wheelhouse, engine, machinery and interior accommodation, effectively stripping down to bare hull.</li><li>Removal of paint for inspection of hull fastenings and planking.</li><li>Repairs to hull planking as necessary.</li><li>Treatment throughout with wood preservative.</li><li>Re-fastening (bronze) of plank ends and butt joints.</li><li>Additional(x30%)copper rivet fastenings.</li><li>Priming and painting of hull interior.</li><li>Fabrication and installation of approx 2 tons of lead keel.</li><li>Fabrication and installation of Iroko deadwood fore and aft.</li><li>New bronze keel bolts.</li><li>Construction of forward bulkhead, central mast support bulkhead engine room/main bridge deck bulkhead and cockpit bridged eck bulkhead.</li><li>Construction of new beamshelf, carlins and deck beams.</li><li>Construction of 2 deckhouses and self-draining cockpit, incl. hatches, portholes and windows.</li><li>Decks constructed from 25mm marine plywood glassfibre woven cloth sheathed and epoxy resin coated.</li><li>Bulwark capping, cockpit coaming capping, handrails and hatches constructed in teak.</li><li>Design, fabrication and installation of deck hardware, including chain plates and mast step.</li><li>Topsides re-caulked, filled primed and repainted.</li><li>Hull below the waterline:- old caulking removed, seams recut, re-caulked and filled, repainted and antifouled.</li><li>Fastenings used throughout are silicon bronze, marine grade stainless steel or galvanised as appropriate.</li></ul>
