Memory 19 "Titch" (sailed by current owner as "Yasamin") is a gaff rigged cutter designed in the 1970's by Tony Robinson.
Inspired by the practicality of the small shoal draft fishing smacks of Brightlingsea the Memory has classic lines and the ability to dry out on a mooring, run up a beach, or load onto a trailer; making her an ideal leisure boat.
Over 140 Memorys have been built and are now well proven classics in their own right; safe, easily handled yet fast boats with numerous wins to their credit in Old Gaffers’ Association events.
In the late 1970s the Memory was sold as a ‘kit’ boat built by Eric Berqvist. Production stopped until the 1990's, when Salterns boatbuilders acquired the moulds and started to build complete boats from 1996.
Titch is an original flat deck "cuddy" version built in 1978 by Eric Berqvist for home completion by the original owner. She was launched in Norfolk and sailed for a few years before being stored. In the early 90's she was bought, refurbished and moved to Essex, then sailed by 2 owners until I bought her in 1998 and moved her to Chichester. She was used frequently until about 7 years ago when she was moved to a local yard and stored under cover.
Titch is in sound original 'un-rigged' condition with the potential to rig and sail " as-is", albeit looking rather scruffy.
Her woodwork is all useable, but is in need of significant maintenance. Her hull is in the original green gel coat, which does show some dull patches, but is completely sound with the benefit that nothing has been covered up.
She has been prepared for anti-fouling including application of a hard boot-top and priming of the wooden rudder but will need to have anti foul applied before launching.
The outboard has been recently (in terms of running hours) serviced; but has not been run for a few years.
