The Hunter Legend 36 is an American design, offering combinations of speed and comfort. From first stepping aboard, you will enjoy the space and ease of moving about. The stays for supporting the mast are handily positioned to assist when climbing on board yet are out of the way when going forward to the bow. The cockpit is a pleasant place to be with high backrests and good support for feet to give comfort in testing conditions. Steering is by wheel, with its size allowing the helmsman a good line of sight forward, along port and starboard. Aft of the binnacle is access to the stern for access to pontoon/dinghy/swim ladder and hot/cold shower outlet. The stainless steel arch for the main sheet is a brilliant idea as it avoids the complication of track and ropes in the cockpit. The arch also offers an excellent support to crew when moving around the cockpit compared with other yachts where there are only wires to hold on to.  However the greatest innovation that exists on Hunter yachts is the two rear quadrant front facing seats. These allow crew to actually sit facing forwards, something missing from other yachts. Access to the cabin is down four steps which are not as steep as found elsewhere. You will immediately realise the benefits of American standards, with the headroom, wood finishings, lead lattice glazed crockery cupboard, heads with separate shower, ability for all crew to eat at the table simultaneously etc. Another main difference from similar sized boats is the rear cabin where both occupants lie athwartships and can sit up in bed owing to the headroom.

Whether you are ready to set sail or the islands or just around the buoys, the Hunter Legend 36 can really make a difference.  Starting with the tall, fractional rig, which is a direct descendent of the B&R rig which powered Hunter's Child to a second place finish in the BOC, Hunter has engineered the mast to carry less weight aloft with smaller sections.  This is accomplished by utilising swept-back spreaders and reverse diagonals as well as mast support struts.  This combination provides superior strength without backstay and increases the stability at the same time.  By using a large roach main as the power sail, Hunter has eased the effort in sail handling and allowed for real versatility for all wind and sea conditions.  Your benefit is better performance with less effort.  If you're looking for major comfort in a mid-size package and performance is important, then this Hunter 36 could be your answer.

This spacious bright saloon with 6'+ headroom is the central feature on the Legend 36. Double Berth forward cabin and owners double aft cabin plus saloon seating make up to 7 berths for family or friends cruising accommodation.  Wood Veneer Finish throughout with wooden floor panels with which 'deck-effect' striping. The deck layout reflects the innovation that accompanies the rig.  An integrated arch protects the cockpit from snapping main sheets and blistering sun with optional Bimini.  This arch keeps the cockpit clear and open.  A custom console stands ready with instruments.  Single lever control and fold down table along with engine instrumentation complete the command station.  The swim platform and walkthrough transom complete with shower and folding ladder are perfect for water sports or for boarding the tender.  Storage is everywhere you look and the non skid is absolutely first-rate.  Comfort is truly important aboard whether for a week or a year, so Hunter has created an interior that not only looks good, but works for you as well. Two private large staterooms along with an enormous head with shower and a saloon that can seat eight plus a gourmet galley will keep all the crew happy.
