Westerly Merlins are famous for how much headroom and living space the designer, Ed Dubois, achieved - 6ft headroom, good galley and toilet spaces: features equivalent to larger Westerlys and other marques.
As a Westerly the boat is strongly built, and well balanced under a simple but effective sail plan (easily handled solo) and has a deep cockpit.
