    Offshore - Halcyon 23
For sale, my Halcyon 23 sailing yacht (Fin Keel). currently on the water in Wisbech yacht haven. So... I have added a number of photos, please note that some of these were taken during refurbishment work carried out over the past 3 years. She is now on the water, and pretty much ready to go! She does come with a road trailer as seen in the photos. I have used this trailer to tow the boat and it tows very well, however I can't advise using it as a road trailer as it really needs some work to ensure it is roadworthy. It is solid, but showing signs of corrosion. brakes need replacing, Tyres are good, but rims are rusting. Work carried out (A lot of work has been done on this boat, below is a list of the main items): •Decks & cockpit - When I purchased the boat, the deck, coach roof & cockpit had been poorly painted, and was flaking. so I removed all the old paint back to the original green/blue gel coat, and then sealed, undercoated, primed, and applied a 2 part epoxy top coat... I used international perfection for this job, and the associated undercoat & primers.... the result is a very hardwearing finish, that should last. The decks/coach roof/cockpit themselves were in good condition, The original gel coat underneath was not crazed or cracked... and no signs of osmosis. •Cockpit coaming - I removed these, treated, removed any rot, filled, and varnished. •Toe rails - replaced with Teak •Rubbing strake - replaced with Iroko •New 316 Stainless Samson post •New 316 cleats •New Clipper Duet depth & Speed log •Sea toilet serviced, and gaskets replaced •New seacock & thru hull fitting for raw water inlet for sea toilet •New seacock & thru hull fitting for engine raw water intake •New raw water strainer for engine intake •New Wet exhaust hose •New Exhaust thru-hull fitting •New Vetus Water lock for exhaust •New electric bilge pump with float switch •New Switch panel •2x cabin lights - 4x reading lights •New port, starboard and stern navigation lights •New 110AH leisure battery •New leisure battery charger/monitor •New Engine starter battery •New Lifelines •New chainplates Where applicable, 316 stainless steel screws & fixings have been used This is a lovely boat, it has been a project for me for 3-4 years, and has been on the water for the past year. I have made the difficult decision to sell the boat due to family commitments, I no longer have the time to maintain and use her, and living in the midlands, she is a good 2 hour drive away from me... I have decided to sell, and get a dinghy instead. She is not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, & there is still work to be done (as there always is with boats) Inventory: •New Sheet •2x New Halyards •New Mainsheet •New Topping lift •Fenders •Roving Fender •Boat hook •Horseshoe lifebuoy & standard lifebuoy light & bracket •Evinrude 4hp long shaft outboard (backup engine on outboard bracket) •Sprayhood •Gas bottle (hose and Regulator new) •Various ropes & lines •Winch handle •3x Winches •Battened mainsail •Large Genoa (hanked) •Smaller Jib sail (hanked) •Additional battened mainsail (hanked) •3x anchors & chain The makers plate says the boat was built in 1969. The hull is solid, original gelcoat topsides, no osmosis. Sails are serviceable, & I have had them re-stitched in places, but no major tears or repairs. There is some staining, and they are old. I had planned to replace these eventually. There are a lot of second hand sails available on Ebay, and from sail lofts, often only a couple of seasons old and at very reasonable prices. I am sure there is a lot more I could add to this, but really if you are interested, you need to come and see it. Like I have said previously, I have done a lot of work to this boat, but there is still more to be done, and areas that still require TLC. But a fantastic looking boat in my opinion
