Westfield Engineering - kingfisher 20
ARIDA is a Kingfisher 20 bilge keel sailing sloop built from GRP in around 1965. The Kingfisher 20 is an extremely well constructed and seaworthy design offering good accommodation for its size (20’7 LOA). Auxiliary power comes from an outboard engine mounted in a cockpit well.
ARIDA has been in our ownership since 2012. We carried out a significant amount of work after purchasing, including rewiring, replacement of equipment including most electronics, new sea water heads, mushroom vent and a lot of general tidying. The stainless steel standing rigging had previously been replaced in 2010 and is in good condition.
ARIDA was sailed extensively in and around Chichester Harbour during our first couple of seasons, but used much less since her return to Hill Head in 2014 due to family and work commitments. She is now in need of some tidying (boats always are it seems….) but is in my opinion very seaworthy and can be used this season without further work (we were out in her a couple of weeks ago and intend to continue using until sold). She can be insured very cheaply on a Small Craft policy without the need for a survey and is very capable of taking the ground, allowing for affordable mooring.
Sails: Mainsail, Hank on Genoa & Jib, old but usable, cleaned 2015. Sail Cover (2012).
Electronics: DSC VHF (2012) with masthead antenna & Windex, Tricolour masthead light, Basic Magellen GPS, Navman Depth (2012), 20W Solar Panel and Charger (2013), Custom Switch Panel (2013).
General: Compass, Boarding ladder, various fenders and warps, Manual bilge pump, Boat hook, Radar Reflector (2012), Fire Extinguisher (2012), Danforth Anchor with 100’ chain.
An engine is NOT included; however I have a choice of two outboards available by separate negotiation.
Scruffy GRP tender also available by separate negotiation, or an inflatable one if preferred.
