Ribcraft - 9m RIB
This RIBCRAFT 9m has now been SOLD. (9 May 2016) Construction of the GRP hull includes a full under-water 'planing' form, with integral 'ribs' providing improved directional control. Heavy-duty tubes are fitted from fore to aft, providing characteristic RIB features of space and speed (see Mechanical data) . The steering console - together with all switches and performance indictors - is mounted slightly aft of the centre, in order to provide a more comfortable ride in rough water. Twin Jockey seats - prepared in one-behind-other format - provide up to 6 persons behind the helm location. The grey inflated tubes are of heavy-duty quality, with reinforcements on the upper faces. The large working area forward would ideally suit a dive-club or a small working team afloat. The heavy duty 4-wheel trailer is included in 'alternative packages' of the RIB, the trailer & engines'. The following navigation units are fitted at the helm and understood to be in working order:
- Magnetic steering compass - Depth sounder
- GPS plotter - VHF radio
Appropriate batteries located within the 'Helmsman's Pod' .
'Under-deck trunking is fitted to enable electric wiring to/from batteries, to be protected between Helm position, power source, etc. for outboard engine 'tilt & turn', 'lift and lower' operations etc.'
Twin YAMAHA 100hp 4-stroke XL outboard engines are linked with the PTT outboard units and 3-bladed propellers. Electric/hydraulic tilt and trim feature - both controlled from helm position.
Fuel capacity: 546 ltrs. Tanks removed, cleaned and re-fitted in Autumn 2015.
Extended 'Jockey' seats, accommodating up to 6 persons (3 x 2), arranged aft of the helm (see photo). 'Safety lines' are fitted to the 'in-board' face of tubes, in the recognised 'loop' method. Non-slip patches also applied to the length of the upper face of the tubes. 'Under-deck' trunking is installed for control cables and wiring.
The following items are included:
- Anchor, chain and warp accommodated in fore-peak.
- 4-Wheel close coupled trailer with winch. Re-fitted console towards stern and with jockey seating for six (2 x 3). The trailer has recently had new bearings and brake cables.
The Trailer has been serviced, including new brakes, bearings and cables fitted.
'The tubes are bonded to the hull over an extended tube flange that gives them far superior bonding strength between tube and hull than conventional flanges. The end product is an immensely strong hull and tube that meets M.C.A. approval' - from the manufacturers' data.'
