RPM sea school is recognised by the RYA to provide training and assessment for power boating levels 1,2, safety boat and international certificates of competence.
Training takes place at Lyme Regis in our school boat with a maximum ratio of one instructor to three students so there is plenty of opportunity for learning. The theory part of the course takes place in our fully equipped training room, with visual aids, charts, white board and OHP etc.
The boat is an Italian made Lomac 5.0 metre Rib equipped with a Honda 50 hp four-stroke engine, and is capable of handling a wide range of situations whilst being forgiving enough to handle the odd mistake!
Courses can be run on demand: midweek or at weekends and at whatever level you require from complete beginners to experienced drivers.
Our fully qualified RYA instructors have been trained to a high standard, have first aid qualifications and have all been assessed by an independent inspector. They have extensive knowledge of the sport, backed up with practical experience from a variety of backgrounds.
The RYA level 2 course will provide the skills and background knowledge, needed by the competent power boat driver and is the basis for the international certificate of competence. The aim is to teach boat handling and seamanship in a variety of conditions.
