Drascombe Longboat, The long light hull of the Longboat ensures exhilerating sailing in all conditions. She is roomy and stable enough to make an excellant fishing craft or for a number of people to potter about in without feeling crowded. Two pairs of rowlock sockets are fitted and there is an option of one or two portable thwarts to turn the Longboat into an effective trining craft. Rigging: The gunter yawl rig has loose-footed sails to make for easy handling. Gybeing is never a worry in this boat. She will handle well under foresail and mizzen and the foresail can be fitted with an alloy luff spar, which allows it to be reefed by any amount in a few seconds. Nothing overlooked: The safety-first Longboat has concealed foam bouyancy, ample freeboard and lifting tiller and kick-up rudder that slides through a trunk to keep clear of the motor well. Stowage and Equipment: Ample stowage is provided under the side benches and afterdeck which the later can be padlocked. The rudder has a folding tiller and lifts straight out for beaching. Positive bouyancy makes the open Longboat unsinkable.
