A chance to aquire a unique Ocean 24 Inboard Rib! The Hull was from around 2000, however this was completely rebuilt from deck up in 2012 (see pictures).
A one off bespoke boat, using local craftsmen from the Rib building trade. The engine was taken out of the boat and rebuilt in 2009 with new linings and rings, we purchased it at that point in 2014 we also had a new lead injector and turbo fitted.
Its been maintained by marine propulsion who has known the boat since new. It has a 4.2l mercruiser D-Tronic 280bhp diesel engine, with a bravo 3 leg with counter rotating props. In the rebuild we moved the engine forwards slightly and lowers the CoG to ensure the optimum weight distribution for performance.
All new ancillaries were put in place in 2012/3 including batteries, cabling, all electrics and pipes fuel tank (250l). equipment was all new in 2013 Garmin 750s, Cobra VHF Clarion CD iPhone and radio waterproof with speakers. Fire extinguisher in engine bay (Auto), Nav lights and loads of storage. To be sure we also fitted 4 bilge pumps is separate compartments, but in all honesty it’s a dry riding boat.
All the seats were made for the boat and are waterproof, the 2 helm seats also double as leaning bolsters when folded up. There is also a roll on the back which isn’t in the photos.
Since the rebuild and new turbo etc, the boat has only done about 20 hours and only 252 in total, she has been kept in Chichester since 2013 on the side out of the water. Speed wise this is an approx 45mph+ boat when clean, propped and trimmed correctly, which due to the delivery of the weight, torque, counter rotating props and low CoG will plough through nearly anything at speed, response is also very, very rapid, which was unexpected in a boat like this. As you can imagine with the size of engine and weight of the boat economy is very good, I don’t know how good, as we haven’t used it enough, but the needle doesn’t move from Chichester to the IOW and back.
