Hurricane is a 45 ft performance cruising yacht equipped with a full wardrobe of Carbon/Aramid laminate racing sails by Quantum optimised for IRC racing. She is rigged for asymmetric spinnakers with a retractable bowsprit and carries three spinnakers including one optimised for reaching and a code zero. Deck gear and winches are by Harken, with a German mainsheet system, roller furling twin headsail track and asymmetric spinnaker she is easily sailed short handed.
Although a fully equipped and competitive racer she has a spacious and comfortable interior with three separate cabins two en-suite and a converting saloon to accommodate up to 9 adults in comfort. Combined with her shorthanded manners she makes an ultra fast comfortable cruising machine. She carries all the additional safety equipment in accordance with her MCA CAT2 coding. She is in my opinion the ultimate cruiser racer, capable of running at the front of any IRC fleet yet as comfortable and spacious as a deck saloon. With a cockpit and interior space comparable with most 50 footers she makes a superb fast cruising yacht.
She is company owned and generates an annual income of around 15k through a select number of charters that repeat annually and could be continued on to the new owner.
Her inventory includes four headsails, three kites, spare main, tactick race instrumentation, two chart plotters, electric coach roof winch, rod rigging, dyneema and Kevlar running rigging, storm sails, hydraulic backstay, 10 man life raft, folding cockpit table, rear bench seat, and a retractable bow thruster.
