Vagabond'elle is a cold moulded Medium Keel Mahogany sloop, in current ownership since 1995. Construction is three layers of Mahogany (26mm) cold moulded on to Oak frames, built by Szczecinska Stocznia Jachtowa, Poland, in 1970 to the design of Ryszard Langer. She was converted by her current owners for their Polar Expeditions in support of their scientific work. She provides comfortable accommodation for up to six scientists. Mechanical propulsion is by Volvo D2-55 55hp diesel installed in 2007 (1100hrs, Nov 21011).
She is well equipped for long isolated periods afloat, with heating, water maker, diesel generator, deep freeze, 48 mile radar, GPS chart plotter, SSB long range radio telephone etc., etc..
She is a unique yacht with a very strong history, scrupulously maintained, fitted with the best equipment and very comfortable in every circumstances.
To date, she has completed 11 long-term (3 to 7 months) scientific campaigns in the Arctic and has crossed the challenging North Atlantic on several occasions.
