Based on the enormously successful and sea-proven Predator 160, the all-new Predator 165 sets new standards of performance and safety, combined with a modern and stylish design.
Safety at Sea
The new Predator 165 was developed to be one of the safest boats in its class and, with that in mind, "unsinkable" just wasn't good enough.
A boat can be called "unsinkable" even if its stern is held under water by its outboard motor and its bows are pointing up at the sky like a rocket! What help is that if you are five miles offshore in a bitterly cold sea?
This doesn't happen with the all-new Predator 165. The "lifering" of buoyancy built into the hull of the Predator 165, which is additional to the usual underfloor buoyancy chamber, means that swamping is no longer the threat it used to be. Just click here to read about how we tested the new model.
Outstanding Performance
And the Predator 165 is not just an extremely safe boat. Because it is based on the design of the unique, sea- proven hull of the Predator 160, it is also an excellent performer, too. And you don't have to take our word for that, just read some of the things the experts had to say:
"The nimblest boat I have tested."
(Simon Everett, Boat Fishing Monthly)
"Has the capability to be worked well off shore." (Mike Thrussell, Total Sea Fishing)
"This really is a good angling boat."
(Dave Lewis, Sea Angler)
"Stability is excellent."
(Mike Thrussell, Total Sea Fishing)
"For the serious angler."
(Irving Stewart, Boatmart)
"The cockpit is superb."
(Dave Lewis, Sea Angler)
"Driving the Predator 165 is a piece of cake."
(Mike Thrussell, Total Sea Fishing)
"Well able to handle quite significant seas."
(Irving Stewart, Boatmart)
"Tough build. A good ride. Tons of cockpit space." (Irving Stewart, Boatmart)
"A thoroughbred angling boat."
(Dave Lewis, Sea Angler)
"On the plane almost instantly. Really impressive." (Mike Thrussell, Total Sea Fishing)
"The hull deflected spray very efficiently. Indeed the cockpit floor remained absolutely dry!"
Hull design: The modern hybrid hull form makes for excellent sea-keeping qualities, combining a deep-vee entry for a comfortable, dry ride at speed, with a semi-cathedral underwater hull shape to provide exceptional stability at anchor.
Buoyancy: The large under-floor buoyancy chamber is foam-filled to give guaranteed buoyancy even if the hull is holed. Not only that, but there are also foam-filled buoyancy tanks in the stern and sides of the hull, creating a ‘life-ring’ of buoyancy that makes the Predator 165 one of the safest boats in its class. Independently monitored tests have proved it, even when the Predator 165 is heavily loaded and swamped, with an 80 hp 4-stroke fitted, it still floats level with its gunwales above water. If you want your family to be safe, the boat you need is the Predator 165
Cockpit: The generous cockpit makes the Predator 165 ideal for sea angling, diving, family fun, or even for use as a fast workboat.
Construction: The hull is constructed to Lloyds’ specification using only Lloyds’ approved materials. It incorporates a 12 inches deep solid hardwood inner keel for exceptional strength and rigidity, longitudinal hull reinforcing to provide for trailer loadings, and additional strength in the bows for dry recovery to a trailer. The hull also carries our two-year warranty against defective materials and workmanship.
Windows: The windows are of tinted polycarbonate and are through-bolted to resist wave impact, an essential feature for seaworthiness.
Anchoring: The Predator 165 is equipped with a heavy duty stainless steel bow roller and a foredeck bollard which are accessed for safety from within the cuddy, through an opening front hatch. Anchor stowage is provided for with a storage compartment built into the bows area of the cuddy.
Helmsman’s Seat: An injection-moulded, swivel bucket seat (for comfort and support) is provided at the helm position. This seat swivels through 360 degrees for convenience when at anchor and is mounted on a GRP seat box, which also provides additional dry storage.
General Storage: Dry stowage compartments with sealed locker hatches are provided in the seat bases, the steering console and in the cuddy seats.
Steering System: The Predator 165 is equipped as standard with top quality, heavy duty, non-feedback steering system and with a comfortable padded steering wheel.
Mooring: Two low-profile stainless steel stern cleats are provided in addition to the foredeck mooring bollard.
Grab Rails: The standard equipment includes full-length grab rails to both sides of the cockpit and smaller grab rails to the rear of the cuddy.
Other fittings: The Predator 165 is also equipped with heavy-duty gunwale fendering, a fire extinguisher in its own housing, and a stainless steel stern boarding step.
