Swansea Coastguard coordinated a search and rescue for the Portishead Independent Lifeboat, after the crew of the Lifeboat had stated they were taking in water due to an impact and were in need of immediate assistance.
Rescue helicopter 169 from RAF Chivenor was scrambled and the Weston-Super-Mare Lifeboat 1 and 2 and the Severn Area Rescue Association Lifeboat 1 were requested to launch by the Coastguard.
Steve Jones, Watch Manager, Swansea Maritime Rescue and Coordination Centre said:
'The Lifeboat was soon located just off Clevedon Buoy, aboard were 3 crew, all of which I am pleased to say are safe and well. The boat is now undertow to Portishead Boathouse.
