All-Wales Boat Show Ready to make a Splash
NewsThursday 29 May 2014
Tomorrow (May 30th), boat enthusiasts from across the UK will be travelling in their thousands to Conwy Marina for the biggest ever All-Wales Boat Show.
The three day event hopes to bolster Conwy’s reputation as one of the world’s premier sailing destinations and build upon the success of last year’s show.
Topping the bill is one of Sunseeker’s biggest and most beautiful cruisers yet. Also on parade will be boats from the biggest names in the industry such as Fairline Wales, Hanse, Jeanneau, Beneteaeu, Robalo, Chapparal, Quicksilver and Bayliner. Over 100 used boats will also be on display.
For those who like their vehicles a little drier, crowds will get the opportunity to get up close and personal with luxury cars from Rolls Royce, Bentley and McLaren and even a helicopter.
However, it’s not all glitz and glam, because on Saturday visitors will be challenged by the current Guinness World Record holder of the fastest bath-tub racer, Tony Bain, to jump in a bath-tub on the water and try and paddle past his record time. Do you think you’ve got what it takes?
Perhaps the most exciting spectacle on show this weekend is the mesmerising new watersport, fly-boarding. Tried by Hollywood stars such as Leonardo DeCaprio, Tom Cruise and Vin Diesel, flyboarding makes its All-Wales Boat Show, and is sure to wow the crowds. Watch the video below for a taste of the amazing acrobatics that will be on display over the weekend.
With a wide range of exhibitors from the marine leisure industry, jet-ski clubs, the Welsh Yachting Association, the RNLI, clothing and food brands, the event hopes to inspire people of all ages and interests to get out onto the water.
The weekend’s festivities begin at 10am tomorrow. Tickets are available here.
