The Mylor Sailing School allow people of all ages with disabilities the chance to learn to sail. Age UK’s contribution to a new two-year programme teach disabled people over 50 how to sail will fund instruction, help train volunteers, assist powerboat costs and marketing the project.
The Mylor Sailing School opened earlier this year, and was initially hoping to secure a £120,000 grant from Sport England but was unfortunately denied. The support of Age UK therefore helps the centre reinvigorate their plans.
On the 2nd of July, the Mylor Sailing School will be holding an open day for the Age UK project. Visitors will be able to attend one-hour sailing taster sessions throughout the day. Contact 01872 266388 or firstname.lastname@example.org for bookings.
