From beautiful yachts to bathtubs - The All Wales Boat Show 2014
Many crowd-pullers are being planned over the three days of the All Wales Boat Show, which takes place at Conwy Marina for the weekend of May 30 to June 1, 2014. From exploring the delights of a stunning new motor yacht to taking part in a spot of bathtub racing, there’s something for everyone here!
The show promises to be a bumper celebration of Welsh coast life, and the perfect place for boating fans to view amazing craft against the stunning scenery of the Conwy estuary and Snowdonia mountains.
What to expect from the All Wales Boat Show 2014
Boats and marine equipment will be for sale, while other attractions lined up include a sailing simulator, boat handling demonstrations, wakeboarding and water sports, Conwy harbour cruises, marine careers information, yachting taster sessions, arts and crafts exhibitions and a plenty of tempting food and drink options.
There will be a line-up of £4 million worth of world-class boats, plus a used boat zone of over 100 boats, a boat jumble on the harbour, chandlery and a range of water- and land-based activities – including wakeboarding, kayaking, stand up boards and wet jets.
Boat brands to look out for include Sunseeker, Cranchi, Jeanneau Prestige, Quicksilver and Bayliner.
Among the exhibitors celebrating the show’s success last year was George Hill, brokerage manager of Bangor-based Dickies International, who sold two luxury motor yachts worth almost £80,000 in 2013.
Sunseeker will again return to the All Wales Boat Show with the North of England distributor, Sunseeker Cheshire.
They will be showing the stunning Sunseeker Manhattan 63 “MAKO” recently sold by Jonathan Kingsley of Sunseeker Cheshire, and very kindly loaned for the weekend by her new owner.
In addition to the Sunseeker Manhattan 63 on display, a Fairline 40 Targa LOLA will be exhibited through Sunseeker Brokerage, which as the dedicated pre-owned division of the Sunseeker London Group.
RYA ‘Active Marina Experience Returns’ to the All Wales Boat Show
Following the success of last year’s inaugural RYA Active Marina Experience at the All Wales Boat Show, WYA will be offering you another opportunity to refresh your boating skills and gain top tips from expert instructors.
Unique river cruise
The Princess Christina is again all booked for ferrying show visitors from Conwy Harbour to Conwy Quay Marina and back again. When the tide isn’t suitable there is a beautiful walk along the river back, 10-20 minute walk.
The Princess Christina was designed to work the River Conwy, built by Dickies a local company based in Porth Penrhyn, Bangor. Launched in June 1963 and she is licensed to carry 80 passengers.
The man who can travel faster in a bath than anyone else on the planet is challenging all-comers to break his world record in North Wales.
Current holder Tony Bain will be cheering contestants on from the sidelines hoping that someone will land a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.
