Megayacht concept features folding hull and inflatable jetty
Monaco-based Pastrovich Studio has dreamt up this design for an incredible 295-foot yacht. Talented Yacht designer Stefano Pastrovich – known for creating the WallyPower range of vessels from Monaco’s Wally Yachts— has experimented with a minimalist, understated appearance for this revolutionary concept. There is a large hull housing a ‘backswept superstructure enveloped in glass’.
Construction of the yacht would require lightweight materials configured in beehive-like hexagonal shapes to ensure the strength required for a vessel of this size, while keeping weight to a minimum. The yacht’s interior design is based on the same structure, featuring rooms with the floors and ceilings meeting each other at non-right angles.
Folding hull and inflatable jetty
When anchored, a portion of the sides of the yacht’s hull can be folded up, transforming the hangar deck into a massive exterior space. Perhaps the most revolutionary feature of the new concept is an inflatable jetty that Pastrovich claims will be able to extend from the back of the ship all the way to shore—allowing people, vehicles, and supplies direct access to land without requiring a tender.
