The Sunseeker London Group has just launched its exciting #SunseekerSeason social media campaign which aims to light up the yacht season with insights into the Sunseeker calendar of launches, boat shows and parties. Sunseeker London’s PR and Marketing Director Laura Harrison explains how the digital campaign will work, and how everyone is invited to take part!
• What can boating enthusiasts – in particular fans of Sunseeker yachts - expect from the #SunseekerSeason campaign?
The #SunseekerSeason is a campaign based around our social media channels to engage with our clients and Sunseeker enthusiasts all over the World. The campaign is fun and informal and we welcome all associated ‘Sunseeker’ activity going on social media, to be flagged as #sunseekerseason to monitor its success!
• Why is social media so important to Sunseeker London right now?
Social media is a massive force in driving communication about the lifestyle, luxury and the beautiful boats we sell. We constantly strive to be an innovative and engaging brand which is in touch with its clients and boating enthusiasts. Sunseeker has always been regarded as a family, and social media is fabulous way for us all to stay in touch and share the passion we all have for the product.
• Which social channels should we follow this through to get the best sense of #SunseekerSeason?
Make sure you follow @sunseekerblog on Twitter to catch up on the latest from our group of companies. However by searching #sunseekerseason on a range of social platforms such as Instagram, Facebook and Twitter you can track all Sunseeker activity from the current season.
• In commercial terms, how optimistic is Sunseeker London about 2015?
We have all sorts of events and activity based over the next six months and the 2015 year. The start of the year has involved new and exciting plans for 2014, which we will expand upon to increase our market share. New boat launches - along with more marketing strategy and award winning after-sales and warranty technical support - will all encompass a number of new initiatives heightening the Sunseeker London Group’s presence as a luxury leader in boat and motor yacht sales and service.
We do not take any of our success for granted; it is essential that we continue to engage on a solid commercial footing but also inspire the hearts and minds of our growing customer base.
• Tell us (without giving too much away!) about the key events/launches that will be featured over the coming months?
The next coming months will see an exciting new range of boats from the factory head on to their new locations around the globe. The Cannes, Southampton, Monaco, Barcelona, and Istanbul boat shows all take place in September through to October, so there is plenty of activity on shipping boats to some of the most glamorous locations around the world. We also have a full-on social event calendar for our clients including a ‘Sunseeker Open’ golf tournament, evening soirees to watch the fireworks off Cannes, to partner ride and drive events with Porsche, and a charity clay pigeon shooting day in the UK.
• Are there particular models of yachts that will be showcased through #SunseekerSeason?
We are all buzzing with excitement having just seen the latest pictures from the factory of the new 86 Yacht that will officially launch at the Cannes Boat Show in September and we think she is a showstopper. We will showcase information from the Great Britain Campaign, which is a national marketing platform celebrating all that is great about Britain and communicating this to an international audience worldwide.
We hosted a specialist photo shoot for this campaign only last week with a Sunseeker Portofino 40 wrapped in the Union Flag around Sandbanks and Poole, (the home of Sunseeker) with an 80 Sport Yacht as the chase boat. The sun was shining and it was an excellent reminder that Sunseeker is a very special and globally recognised British brand we are all so proud of.
• It sounds really interactive and you’re inviting ‘clients, friends and industry figures’ to participate. What kinds of things can they do to get involved?
Any activity around the use of a ‘Sunseeker’, we encourage for them to use the ‘#sunseekerseason’ mark. A great example is to search #sunseekerseason in Instagram and see the wonderful array of snapshots of the Sunseeker World. Sunseeker families and friends enjoying precious time together in sparkling locations, highly skilled craftsmen sharing tantalising images from our unique Poole Shipyards, and eagle-eyed travellers all over the globe spotting magnificent boats from our 50 year pedigree. At the end of the season we plan to host a party, showcasing the highlights of this social media campaign and inviting all of the users of this campaign.
• There’s a party planned at the end of the season to showcase the best digital activity – what kinds of digital activity do you hope #SunseekerSeason will inspire?
Sunseeker has always had a reputation of being fun and flamboyant. We understand the pressure of today’s high speed lifestyles and how much our clients treasure their time with those they love on the water. We also understand that through their heritage and dynamic and timeless good looks there are thousands of enthusiasts around the World who love spotting our boats. #Sunseekerseason is all about us all coming together to share everything that makes Sunseeker so special. We hope the #sunseekerseason will inspire a network of online discussion and lifestyle habits and fabulous Sunseeker boat picture sharing!
•On a personal note, what makes you passionate about the Sunseeker brand?
Sunseeker is an iconic Superbrand and yet through the unique feeling of family that it retains it still manages to hold great affection from not only our wonderful owners but for generations who aspire to the dream.
To remain arguably the most recognised luxury marine brand in the World, everyone working for Sunseeker works extremely hard, but we are all so proud to be a part of it. There is nowhere I would rather be.
• Which part of the #SunseekerSeason are you most looking forward to?
I am loving every minute of it but the party at the end and reviewing the feedback and knowledge gained around the world from our campaign will be great. Sunseeker has always been rather good at hosting a party!
