Sailing with Sclerosis: Oceans of Hope Visits Portsmouth
After a fleeting but inspirational visit to Portsmouth this past weekend, the Oceans of Hope crew set sail once more on their 17 month global circumnavigation adventure.
Oceans of Hope is 20-metre yacht manned by a working crew of people with multiple sclerosis currently travelling round the world to inspire and empower people with MS to follow their dreams.
On Friday, in Portsmouth, more than 20 people with MS attended the Oceans of Hope taster sessions onboard the Thames barge, Alice, and the wheelchair friendly motor boat, Wet Wheels. The day provided the opportunity to experience the joys of being on the water, but also a rare opportunity for some to engage with fellow sufferers of MS.
The next stop on the Oceans of Hope journey is the Bassin des Chalutiers in La Rochelle, France on Thursday afternoon. Watch the video below to learn more about this inspirational project.
