Take a Look at the Impressive Vessels on Display at the Tall Ships Regatta 2014
From 5th to 9th September, dozens of the world’s most exquisite tall ships will arrive at London's Royal Greenwich for the Tall Ships Regatta 2014.
With 52 ships on display, this will be the largest Tall Ship event in a quarter of a century. The ships will make their way to Royal Greenwhich from the Falmouth Tall Ships Regatta, which runs from Thursday 28 to Sunday 31 August.
Not only will visitors get to view these majestic vessels, but they will also be able to climb aboard and even book short cruises along the Thames. Also, for just £3, visitors can take a short river shuttle to experience the festival’s largest ship - the Dar Mlodziezy.
With a wealth of naval history under its belt, the Maritime Greenwich is home to the Cutty Sark, the Royal Observatory, National Maritime Museum and Old Royal Naval College. Royal Greenwich receives around 18 million visitors each year, who come to enjoy its historic royal buildings, maritime heritage, museums and many other attractions. In addition to the beautiful setting of Royal Greenwich and the impressive ships, firework displays and live music will be sure to please the crowds.
The Tall Ships Regatta is open to visitors of all ages and the parade will take place between 11.30am and 1pm at Maritime Greenwich.
