UK Big Wave Surfer Looks for Funding to Help Surf the Biggest Wave on the Planet
World renowned UK big wave surfer Andrew 'Cotty' Cotton launched a campaign to find £10,000 of funding to help him surf the biggest wave in the world and set a new world record.
In 2013, Cotty came close to breaking the world record after conquering a 61ft wave in Nazare, Portugal. The current record is 78ft, and with the funding he hopes to document the process of hunting down and surfing the world record wave. Donations are being funded by crowdfunder.co.uk, and the project will only be funded if at least £10,000 is pledged by 3:06pm 7th October 2014.
Despite being known as one of the world’s best big wave surfers, Cotty funds his trips during the winter season by working as a lifeguard and plumber during the summer. He is also without a big sponsor to help him realise this mission.
You can donate to the project here and discover the rewards available to donors.
