The Mark 3 ProStar 190 from MasterCraft set a new standard in ski boat design with Electronic Fuel Injection as standard, as well as a hull which although primarily intended at the time to offer the best wakes that a slalom skier could expect, the relatively high freeboard and larger volume of the hull meant that she throws up a crisp well defined wakeboarding wake. The same hull was also used for the popular MasterCraft X5 wakeboard edition. In fact so popular was this hull it enjoyed one of the longest uninterrupted and unchanged production runs in the company’s history from 1995 – 2003.
Not to be compared with a sterndrive, outboard or jet powered boat – the precision handling and wakes of a true tournament inboard boat are in a totally different class to even the very best of the other styles of craft, and MasterCraft’s build methods, especially in this era, were second to none!
