Imported boats do not need to be "ce marked" by manufacturer, however they must be assesesed (boat and motor) and certified prior to use or sale in UK (or EU). Certification as "post construction assesment", in which case a "post construction certificate" is issued, is perfectly acceptable and legal. Anyone who tells you otherwise is wrong.
