Subsequently she enjoyed success in local club races and in three Round the Island races. Sister ships have also done well in events like the two handed AZAB and "Triangle" (Torquay/Cork/Treguier) races whilst several have also crossed the Atlantic and cruised even further afield sometimes single handed. The accommodation is comfortable for both inshore cruising and day sailing. It also works equally well offshore where RAMPION has proved to be a performance, all weather, sea kindly vessel always looking after her crew even in extreme conditions. She has been owned by her present owner since 1981. "These boats are worth seeking out". (Yachting Monthly A-Z of second hand boats).
