The Mari is of traditional appearance, having a deep forefoot running smoothly aft to a long straight keel. This is balanced by a well shaped transom stern. The hull topsides are slightly unusual in a hillyard in that they are built up to the vessels sides (4 planks above the rubbing strake) and more in keeping with the designer Maurice Griffths" This gives more spaces in the accomodation and more buoyancy in a seaway.
The yatch carries a traditional gaff cutter rig with the jib set on a bowsprit. The spirit is set off to the port side. The mast is monuted on an oak taberancle set on the deck. Below the waterline, the yatch has very powerful sections and should stand well to her canvas. These sections are typical of the lines of a centreboarder and this have proved to be in the case with the "mari" however this board has been removed, the slot in the keel planked over and the draft increased to compensate for its loss"
Yatch is at a secure yard in Sharpness where is can be viewed, cranage facilities are avaible, storage facilities availble. Any inspection welcome. Please contact 01453 811261
