This course covers the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System and instructs the student in proper VHF procedures. It gives hands on practice to encourage the use of VHF equipment in accordance with proper procedure and regulations. Part of the course instructs in the use of Digital Selective Calling (DSC) both for emergencies and routine calling. It is a one day course run at Tillers own premises in Guildford or if there are large numbers at a nearby conference and teaching room in Milford near Godalming. Both venues are short walks from mainline railway stations.
