    25ft Classic wooden Bermudan Cutter Maurice Griffiths Cockler

    A very attractive Classic Maurice Griffiths design cruising yacht. Carvel, mahogany planked, long keel, external ballast keel, Bermudian Cutter Rig.
    Tiller steering, Traditional tan coloured sails. All varnished wooded spars with a short bowsprit and a bumpkin out aft. She was built by Everson's Boatyard of Woodbridge, Suffolk, in 1958 to a Maurice Griffiths design, of a Cockler. She offers 4 berths in two cabin a separate heads compartment, Inboard Sole diesel engine.
    Her LLoyds Registry in 1961 states that her owners then were East Coast Charter Co Ltd
    In recent years, during this present ownership she has undergone a massive Professional restoration project. Completed in 2016.
    She was damaged in 2017, when she broke free from her swinging Summer mooring and sat on rock. This punctured the hull fortunately the Boatyard between the tides reacted to this distress. manged to patch her up and tow her off the beach. Insurance have now paid for the repairs of this incident. All works have been completed and no lasting issues remain.
    Viewing recommended. Vessel kept afloat on a Marina Berth for the Winter,
    Construction
    Carvel planked Mahogany. Fastened to steamed rock elm frames and ribs with laminated Mahogany deck beams, a keel of Oak with an iron external ballast keel bolted to this. Internally in the bilges she has approx 2 tons of lead ingot ballast.
    The decks are the original pine planked flushed coach roof decks with an open aft cockpit., drains into the bilge...laid on top of this is a plywood layer which has been epoxy coated and then painted with non slip paint.
    Toe rail and foredeck have been replaced during her restoration.
    All deck fittings were removed.
    Accommodation
    single butane gas hob .
    Manual water pump from 5litre plastic container below. "cold only" into a wash-up bowl.
    No gas.
    Sliding main hatch into the saloon. Varnished hardwood doors to the companionway. Heads compartment to strbd with a Baby Blake toilet.
    A dinette with galley station opposite and a single long bench berth.
    The entire interior is all painted out in light gloss with varnished wooden slates up the cabin sides. small shelf . Oil lamp lights. Through bulkhead forward into fore peak with a double berth and hatch to the fore deck.
    A removable dining table freeing up the seating to convert to a further double berth.

    Cone & Ball shapes Ensign with staff and holder.
    Sails
    All solid wooden pine mast and spars , Deck stepped , a fixed Bowsprit and a bumpkin aft.
    Sails All made by Dolphin, Tan terylene, all in very good clean condition.
    She is rigged as a Bermudian Cutter. Furling gear for the head sails.
    Sail wardrobe; Genoa, Jib, Storm Jib, Main sail with slab reefing and a spinnaker.
    Stainless steel wire standing rigging, bronze bottle screws , one set of spreaders. Chain plates have been replaced and are now sited on the outside hull of the vessel.
    Running rigging was deemed to be of serviceable condition a little worn and dirty....
