Sailing BoatsClassic Sailing BoatsMorecambe Bay PrawnerFibreglass replica gaff rig
Fiberglass replica of a traditional Morecambe Bay Prawner.
FIberglass hull (eric bergquist layup) with wooden decks and coachroof (fiberglass sheathed from new so no leaks).
Wooden Spars.
Gaff Cutter rig with bowsprit.
Kubota three cylinder diesel engine.
Roller furling on both foresails, all lines led aft so can be singlehanded easily (comes with tiller pilot)
First launched 2000.
Just been hauled out, ashore in southampton.
I have owned her for approx five years, had great fun last summer sailing with wife and two small children in the solent (west country before that)
She is 28' on deck plus approx 8' bowsprit giving length overall of approx 36'.
Since owning her I have replaced the coamings, handrails, gunwhales, pulley blocks, running rigging, cockpit grating, all in hardwood, windows, too much to mention. She has two quarter berths, a double in the saloon, and a single in the forecabin. Sea Toilet in the forecabin. Galley with spirit stove and sink. Woodburner. I will be carrying out annual maintenance over the coming month or two, then relaunch for cruising in the solent with my family, unless someone else wishes to buy her.
Note she now needs a clean, paint job, and varnish (which she may get from me if she doesn't sell before the season)
Note I have just replaced all seacocks and skin fittings in dzr.
