IRIS is a Golant Gaffer designed by Roger Dongray.
She is just under 20' long by about 7' beam and about 2'8" draft.
She is gaff rigged with a jib and a foresail flying from a bowsprit. The bowsprit is lifting to cut down on marina fees. She has a 10hp Vetus diesel engine which has been maintained annually.
Iris is currently out of the water (since Nov 2019 due to COVID 19) and is lying at a boatyard just outside Norwich under a tent. She has been covered since lift out in November 19 and is ready to go Her spars and sails have been stored indoors every year since first launch and are indoors at this moment. The sails were taken out of their bags just before lockdown 1 and laid out to be checked. No problems were found.
Her hull is sheathed with glass fibre and had 2 coats of epoxy inside.
