32ft Sovereign Class Holman Bermudan ketch.
Merewif, deemed to be hull number 2 of the Sovereign Class, C.R. Holman design built by the renowned Uphams Boatyard of Brixham. Listed in Lloyds Register built to A100A1 grading. Much of her youth was spent on the East coat in and around West Mersea with Gowens the sail makers, best friends and contemporary of the designer/ builder Kim Holman.
She spent 18 years under cover in Kings Yard before being Sold again to the present owners who have lavished their time and money into her.
Merewif has been restored to near new condition again. All the planking was checked out by a qualified shipwright all found to be in good order
Construction
Carvel planked.
She had been under cover for 18years prior to her purchase by the present owners in 2015
Since then her keel was dropped and re-bedded, new keel bolts put in place.
New engine installed.
New teak decks laid.
Accommodation
Coach roof re glassed and painted, new fore hatch , new water tank , new Jabsco toilet installed.
Good standing headroom below.
Sails
New alloy masts Main and Mizzen, new booms , new stainless steel tabernacle. New fittings added to masts and rig.
New Furling genoa gear
Her sails are brand new and have never been used, stored at Gowen of Mersea since they were made.
Include: Main sail, mizzen. furling genoa, storm jib, tri sail , two part self stacking sail covers on the booms. All in white.
In addition there are 2 x used blue canvas sail covers a main and a mizzen both red terylene fabric. ( in good order) :
