Our Moody33 Mark II has been converted to a Mk 3 ( moody 333) layout to give internal access to the aft cabin with a double bed meaning that this can be reached from the saloon and not as per the original layout which was from a separate companionway from the cockpit.. --
She is fun to sail and has taken us to both the Channel Isles and the Isles of Scilly. We take our cruisng speed as 5 knots and regularly see sail-only speeds of 6 - 6.5knots and she is very forgiving in a heavy sea
She had an engine rebuild in 2010 and a steering rebuild whilst adding the autopilot in 2016
She will be in the water on a marina berth until November 30th 2020 and then has paid land-storage until March 31st 2021 which will all be included if required
The centre cockpit has been improved for single handed sailing with a new raymarine autopilot, VHF radio in the cockpit, and 12v charging for ipad navigations.
With a furling mainsail and genoa, & four of the 5 winches near to the wheel plus the mainsheet traveller is aft of the cockpit she is ideal for single handed sailing without leaving the cockpit (except putting up the cruising chute in light airs and clam seas and anchoring from a very secure anchor well at the bow. )
We have also added AIS, PC/USB navtex, gas alarm, electronic barometer, solar panels, an improved alternator, battery monitors a GPS based speed log, and internal heating
The in-mast-furling mainsail , with 5 vertical battens holds a good shape and the genoa, new in 2017 has added to her speed.
The original Thorneycroft engine runs on quite happily run for the whole days sailing when necessary .
The hull iss epoxy tarred below the waterline by a previous owner.
