    Sailing BoatsCruisersRustlerModel 36

Global sailing yacht of impeccable pedigree. The Rustler 36 needs little introduction, like her numerous stablemates, this example has proven her prowess with her three owners since launch in 1990. Now back home in Falmouth from her most recent Caribbean adventure. Good array of offshore sailing features and home comforts. She is a lovely yacht for safe, comfortable adventure sailing.... In highlighting her ocean credentials, some would say she could even be the yacht of choice for the next Golden Globe Race................Call us for more details.

    Owners Comments
In 2015, we decided to cross the Atlantic to visit our daughter, her partner, and our granddaughters on St Lucia. Altair was the first sailboat we viewed, and we knew she was for us because she had all the gear for the crossing, she had crossed a few times already and had a unique re-fitted saloon. We sailed Falmouth to Madeira, Madeira to La Palma (Canary Islands) and La Palma to St Lucia in 2016, arriving in Rodney Bay on December 23 after a 23 day passage. Despite experiencing 3-4 metre swells and wind speeds up to F6-8, Altair gave us no cause for any anxiety. In spring 2017 we sailed without incident south to St Vincent and The Grenadines reaching Canouan before returning to St Lucia. I also sailed single handed south from St Lucia and Bequia and north many times to Martinique and Dominica. The occasional boisterous sea state between islands was not a problem for Altair and gusts of up to 35 knots were easily handled. In March 2018 and 2019 we sailed north via Martinique to Guadeloupe, Isles des Saintes, our favourite destination. In 2020 I brought Altair single handed from St Lucia to Bequia for shipping to Southampton. My final eight-hour passage from Deshaies, Guadeloupe to Jolly Harbour, Antigua was some of the most exhilarating I have experienced on Altair averaging 7 knots in 25-30 knots of wind on the beam.
