The Invicta 26 was designed by EG van de Stadt in 1964, as a GRP Folkboat derivative, with elegant lines and excellent sailing and sea keeping performance. Similar in many ways with the more expensive and better known Contessa 26, the Invicta being slightly faster and having slightly more internal space.

Arelia is a lightly used but much loved 1966 MK1 Invicta, the MK2 (with a little more headroom and a shorter mast) being introduced in 1969. The hull and deck were moulded by Tylers Boat Co. under Lloyd supervision.

The Yachting Monthly used boat test printed in 2001 concluded “…Invictas are seakindly, knockabout cruisers that will keep a couple or young family safe in all weathers and embarrass some modern yachts with their speed”.
