This 1986 Dufour 1800 has been lovingly owned in a small syndicate for the last 10 years. She has all the paperwork of ownership since she was bought brand new at the London boat show. This Fractional sloop is a pedigree cruiser / racer designed by Laurent Cordelle and Michel Dufour with the first hull built in 1979. Available with several different layout and power plant options this yacht has an inboard Yanmar 1GM which is incredibly reliable and simple to maintain. The vessel was also optioned with an outboard well in the cockpit meaning that a transom mounted tender outboard can safely manoeuvre this vessel as well as the main engine.
The yacht called “Zippy” has been upgraded over the years and features 4 cockpit winches and one coach roof halyard winch. Equipped with a hard wired windex for speed and direction, colour chart plotter in the cockpit along with a Raymarine Bi- data for depth and log, she also comes with an Autohelm tiller pilot to make shorthanded sailing incredibly easy. Along with 2 x 80AH batteries the vessel is fitted with a shore supply battery charger and management system and batteries are also charged via the Yanmar engine. There is also a battery monitor system which displays Amp hours or Percentage remaining in the batteries depending on preference. There is also a stereo onboard which feeds two cockpit speaker with excellent sound. Additional to this, a ships VHF has been fitted in 2018 (ICOM) and the aerial runs to the mast top.

The is also one pullman pilot berth to Port in the saloon. here is a head amidships complete with new fitted Jabso toilet unit fitted in 2018 and the original ablution sink. There is a flexi water tank under the forward bunk with holds 100 Litres of water. There is onboard lighting throughout the boat. The original gas hob has long been removed and a portable camping stove snow serves to service the galley area. There is a saloon table around which 4 people can easily sit and large amounts of stowage available both under the saloon seats and behind them under the gunwales.
There are two large and deep lockers accessed via the cockpit large enough for a fully grown man to climb into and therefore gives a huge level or storage for a yacht of this size.
The yacht comes with One mainsail, one genoa, Halyards, warps and fenders, many extras and spares and all the standard equipment you would expect to be able to go sailing straight away. Zippy has a draft of 1.3 metres and is a fin keel making upwind performance favourable for such a small cruiser. The rudder is through deck mounted and the rudder stock itself is on top of the aft pushpit.
This boat would ideally suit a dingy sailor progressing to a keel boat, and ideal for racing as is ready rigged to fly a spinnaker with a Selden carbon spinnaker pole.
