Motor BoatsHouse BoatsavailableProject Designs
Extensively rebuilt by retired professional boatbuilder this is a tidy example of this spacious and popular design.
It would serve as a 'liveaboard' for two or as a holiday river/estuary and coastal cruiser but having given up thoughts of renting it out I have decided, with regret, to sell. It has twin Volvo Penta AQA270 outdrives which take the gears well and have no leaks. New bellows fitted, one only, as the normally complicated design has been simplified by changing to exhaust water mufflers (red hoses and green boxes) and above water exhaust stacks. The underwater 'oles are thereby reduced by 66%. This has been done as the original Volvo Penta (Peugeot) MD21A's have been replaced by the much later Ford XD2 (Peugeot based) diesels, which is virtually identical but larger at 2.3 litres and were fitted to Sierras and Scorpios. This also means much cheaper spares ! They are slightly more powerful at 75 bhp. The port oil pressure is very good and the starboard oil pressure is very, very good ! Has engine compartment fire extinguisher.
The hull being built prior to the 'oil crisis' of 1971/2, is a much thicker layup than later hulls and is unsurpassed in strength and ease of maintenance.
The stern and wheelhouse decks have been replaced and a new cover made to preserve them. The electrics have been re wired with use of several relays to reduce voltage loss with copious fuses for simplicity. There are two master switches each controlling two batteries per engine, one starter, one domestic. This gives reliable and separate cabin and starting power with the ability to isolate or connect in parallel if required.
The cabin seat covers and curtains are new. There is a Jabsco electric toilet with 'Y' valve for either overboard discharge or to a interior 'dump' tank. A calorifier heats the water from the engine. There is a 'basic' shower, utilising the retractable basin hose assembly.
Has two depth gauges, two compasses and a basic Sat Nav.(Lat and Long) Two temperature gauges are fitted, the second one placed 'downstream' of the water injection bends to give early warning of raw water failure.
She does not have a BS certificate but with minor modifications (mainly hoses) this could be achieved, Comes with inflatable and Seagull outboard.
An 'Old Lady', not 'mint' but sound, dry and reliable ! Come and have a look and have a trip around the bay if seriously interested ?
At present at Blackwater Marina Mayland (CM3 6EJ) and could probably remain; with easy access to Thames.
