AQUAFIBRE OPAL 28 Built in 2004 by John Williams Boats, commissioned in 2005. The hull was professionally epoxy coated below the waterline by Fox’s (Ipswich) before launching. Boat powered by a single Nanni diesel engine. 4 berths in two cabins, hob grill and oven, 12v fridge and central heating., shower and toilet. Excellent build quality and well-furnished throughout, and owned and looked after by experienced and caring owners. The Opal 28 has been a very successful cruiser on the Broads and the Thames for many years, and good privately owned examples are highly sought after. It boasts a very practical layout for a couple or a family, with a wide stable hull and a level floor throughout the boat. A particular feature is the two sliding roof sections over the saloon, which open right down to deck level, and can be opened individually port and/or starboard to allow fresh air and sun or shade, while giving protection from the wind. The very low air draft means it can pass under low bridges, giving access to the full length of the Thames or the Broads, including the particularly beautiful and tranquil upper reaches of the Thames.
