    This Mitchell 31 is a rare aft cabin MkIII version with the later hull shape for improved performance/economy and offers lots of accommodation in a well proven, sea kindly format. Thames Fueler was built to a high standard and set up for comfortable cruising, either offshore or on rivers, with a great inventory including solar panels so can easily be based on a mooring.

    Accommodation
    The layout offers up to five berths in three cabins including the wheelhouse saloon, which could be altered to offer a further double if required. FORWARD CABIN - Fitted with a V berth forward, lots of useful stowage and a U-shaped galley aft to starboard equipped with a Techimpex 2-burner gas cooker with grill and oven, sink, 12v fridge (up companionway in wheelhouse but reachable from galley) and good fitted storage. DAY HEADS - Separate heads compartment to port fitted with a marine toilet, wash basin and storage lockers. WHEELHOUSE SALOON - Well equipped helm position to port providing excellent visibility with a large settee and table to starboard which currently offers a single berth, but could be altered to provide a further double if required, with a small chart table aft. AFT CABIN - Consisting of a transverse double berth with large storage and hanging lockers and an en suite heads compartment fitted with a marine toilet and washbasin. GENERAL EQUIPMENT - Pressurised hot and cold water system via a calorifier. Webasto diesel fired warm air heating system (new 2010). Teak cabinetry throughout with grey cotton upholstery.
    Mechanical Systems
    Located under saloon sole, Vetus-Deutz DT64 six cylinder 150hp turbo charged marine diesel engine. Freshwater cooled via heat exchanger. Single lever controls with electric start. Whitlock hydraulic steering. Stainless steel 560 litre fuel tank. Shaft drive via a Hurth HSW 450A 2:1 reduction hydraulic gearbox to a four bladed propeller. QL bow thruster with dedicated battery. The engine is currently showing 2257hrs (will increase gradually as still in use) and has been regularly maintained with an accurate log of servicing and usage. Professionally serviced in March 2018, a new exhaust system including hoses was installed in 2013 and the engine has proven very reliable. Her owner also says that he has achieved economic cruising burning around four litres per hour at 7kts.
    Electrical Systems
    4 x 12v Batteries arranged in two banks each with 80ah engine start and 110ah domestic (all new since 2008), both capable of being used for engine starting and charged via engine alternator with Adverc management system. Dedicated bow thruster battery forward. Shorepower system with ring mains and Sterling smart battery charger (new 2008). Two solar panels with Solsum charge regulators. Electrical distribution panel and battery monitor. Battery breaker system with changeover between banks.

    Construction
    Mitchell 31 MkIII moulded by J S Mouldings and finished to her first owner's specifications. Dark blue GRP hull, white superstructure and decks with grey Treadmaster non-slip surfaces. Heavy duty D section fendering. Teak and stainless steel bathing platform with boarding ladder. Varnished teak veneered wheelhouse aft bulkhead. Centre cockpit with storage areas and access to mechanical systems. Whitlock hydraulic steering to rudder. Folding mast designed to be easily lowered to minimise air draft for river work. Thames Fueler has only had two owner's from new and has been subject to a regular maintenance schedule. During her current ownership she has been used as a cruising support vessel for sail training vessels and was coded for this use.
