    Advertiser's comments

An excellent example of the rare and sought after North European Broom 44 Hardtop offshore motor yacht with an extensive list of factory fitted extras specified by her original owners and subsequent upgrades and extras installed by the Broom factory in 1995 and 2010.

Jolly Rotter II is an exceptional, high specification, well maintained example of this John Bennett designed and craftsman built quality motor yacht. Flagship of the renowned Norfolk boat builders C J Broom & Sons, hand built to their traditional high standards of boat building craftsmanship, engineering, reliability and longevity using the best quality materials and components.

The current owners have enjoyed cruising her on many rivers, estuaries, coastal and offshore passages over the past four seasons. This boat has it's home and winter mooring in fresh water. Salt water is flushed out of all systems at the end of each season to minimise corrosion. Routine servicing and general maintenance is carried out at the end of each season. She is then recommissioned and lifted for general underwater inspection at the start of each season. There is also a detailed history from the previous owners.

Further detailed photographs are available on request for all areas of the boat and if you require any further information or would like to view her at any reasonable time by appointment.

After a century of quality boat building in Brundall Norfolk, C J Broom & Sons combined with the renowned and prolific naval architect John Bennett to create and develop a brand new flagship fast offshore cruiser - the hand built Broom 44.

Unlike their mass produced competitors, the 44 was at the high end of the market and certainly not built down to a price. They were individually built to order with an almost unlimited choice of custom built options for truly discerning connoisseurs, many of whom were multiple previous Broom owners.

C J Broom & Sons excellent reputation for building strong, safe and beautiful boats was built on the knowledge, skills and craftsmanship gained over four generations of boat building. The 44 combines the best of traditional hand built construction together with the strength, durability and low maintenance of modern heavy hand laid GRP moulding technology and dependable marine engineering systems and installations - all carried out in house under the direction of Martin Broom.

Broom 44's built during this golden era retain solid residual values as a result of their high quality specifications, unsurpassed build quality and longevity.

Jolly Rotter II specifically benefits from the renowned Broom 44 reputation of having exceptional hull strength, excellent sea keeping abilities and powerful, reliable Volvo Penta engines providing up to 24knots or more economical cruising between 6-10knots.

The silky smooth soundproofed 380hp TAMD 71B engine's with Bosch mechanical fuel injection & Morse cable engine controls provide reliability and easy serviceability without the downsides of having complex, expensive, non user-serviceable electronics to fail unexpectedly or cause critical engine shut down when at sea.

An extended range of over 1000nm is possible with dedicated individual 210gal stainless steel tanks for port & starboard engines and a 50gal stainless steel reserve fuel tank with Y valve and transfer pump. She is capable of extended river, estuary, coastal and safe offshore passage making for continental cruising.

She is small enough to be easily handled and managed by one or two people yet large enough to be self sufficient for living aboard or extended cruising for weeks or months at a time in comfort for a large family. Perfect for exploring and anchoring in stunningly beautiful locations without the need for marina berthing.

Her design and specification also puts others in the shade when it comes to the comparison of more subtle but very desirable features. These include high quality marine grade Bronze underwater fittings & sea-cocks throughout, mirror polished 316 stainless steel window frames and port-lights inside and out, heavy duty polished 316 stainless steel deck fittings throughout and the beautiful gracious lines created by the curved toughened glass windscreens and curved mirror polished 316 stainless steel framing of the saloon and upper helm positions.

In summary, this Broom 44 Hardtop is a rare and timeless modern day classic considered by many to be John Bennett and Martin Broom's finest masterpiece.
