The Dutch-built Winner range of performance cruising yachts has an excellent pedigree, being created by Cees van Tongeren of the renowned Van de Stadt Design team. They are built by hand in Enkhuizen, on the shore of the Ijsselmeer, by skilled craftsmen using the very latest GRP construction technology.
The design and performance of a Winner yacht makes them as popular for as racing as they are for cruising. As the builder states, every new winner has:
Hulls that are built with high quality isophthalic resins for effective protection against osmosis, a steel reinforcing grid around the keel area and foam-filled floor beams for maximum stiffness
Casing construction with laminated deck-hull connection providing a lifelong dense and rigid hull
Structural bulkheads that are laminated and bonded to the hull and deck for maximum integrity
Topsides made from a high-density foam sandwich to reduce overall weight, provide insulation, and will not absorb water in the event of leakage will not soften
Keel foundations that are always identical so that the keel can be changed if the sailing ambition or the area changes
In the area of ??fittings, metal plates are used to absorb the forces and for easy replacement
Powerful sailing plans that enable safe and fast sailing
Dyneema core running gear and generously dimensioned deck fittings exclusively from premium manufacturers for easy handling
A standard forefoot roller system
Timelessly elegant interiors in high-quality boat construction quality and genuine veneers
A practical and seaworthy interior layout for a comfortable life on board
Comfortable, high-quality upholstery and long bunks for a restful sleep
The Winner 8 is a true performance cruiser with all the advantages above: design category B and plenty of sailing ability for optimum sailing fun and safety due to a high ballast content. The Performance edition features the deeper T-keel, Dyform rigging and a retractable bowsprit with associated deck gear. Comfort is guaranteed with no less than five comfortable sleeping spaces, a modular interior design and a well thought-out cockpit. Available in two keel variants,”Mirage” has the longer 1.5m bulb keel and attached rudder system. The rig is lightweight and easy to trim.
The weight and dimensions of the Winner 8 makes her ideal for trailer transport behind a large car, thereby giving the freedom to discover new cruising areas. A mast laying device can also be purchased from the builder if required.
