    Brokers/Owners Comments
Thalia is a work in progress. She was bought in 2000 having been laid-up ashore, neglected, and partially stripped over a period of approximately 9 years in the UK. Since 2000 a considerable amount of money has been spent on her giving her a new rig and sails, new windows, instruments, toilet, GPS, electric windlass etc. She is an excellent sailing yacht and her new sail plan has made her very competitive in her class. However, there is still much work to be done to improve her cosmetic appearance and this fact is reflected in the price at which she is offered for sale.
She is currently ashore in Zakynthos Greece and may possibly be re-launched in May2016 for the season. Zakynthos is one of the Ionian Islands and the Ionian Sea is wonderful safe sailing area. Other islands within easy reach are Kefalonia, Ithaca, Levkas, Meganisi, Kalamos, Kastos and the mainland of Western Greece.
In the winter period Zakynthos is accessible via flights or coach and ferry from Athens, and from April to October is accessible via direct flights from London Gatwick through EasyJet, Thomson, Thomas Cook and other travel companies
    History & Construction
Elizabethan yachts were originally built by Peter Webster Ltd. at Lymington UK, with a range of models from 23ft upwards, all by different designers.
The Elizabethan 33 is based on the Elizabethan 30 designed by David Thomas who is famous for the Hunter range and the Sigma 33. Peter Webster added a counter-stern to David Thomas’ design and built the yachts until he sold the moulds of the Elizabethan Range to Drummond-Bayne Marine who continued building the yachts at Southampton UK until around 1985.
The Elizabethan 33 has a solid GRP hull using woven roving’s with a bolt-on external iron ballast keel. The deck and cockpit mouldings are also GRP with balsa cores in horizontal areas, replaced with marine ply core in stress areas for fittings. As with almost all GRP boats of this era, the hull mouldings are much more heavily built than modern production yachts. ‘Thalia’, with all her equipment, weighs approximately 8 tons.
