Marathon of Guernsey is based on the production Feeling 1350 but apart from the overall shape, that is where the similarity ends. She was built for the BOC Single-handed round the world race and was specially designed, constructed and fitted out to meet the requirements of the BOC race. The oversize rod rigging supports a special heavy section mast with a deep lead keel, the boat was fitted out regardless of cost. Marathon is far from the typical Feeling 1350. She was designed to cope with the Southern Ocean and is completely fitted out for offshore single-handed sailing. Her layout reflects this with the nav station immediately at the bottom of the companionway ladder. There are berths to port and starboard. Going forward there is a galley amidships, just forward of the keel stepped mast. There is a small saloon beyond the main bulkhead that has a table that drops down to make a double berth. Going forward again is a head then a watertight bulkhead and stowage for sails. The aft compartments are made up of workshop and and another heads. This boat will require a refit and rewiring, but for the shorthanded sailor who wants to go places well worth looking at.
