The Hunter Legend Yacht 306 offers great comfort, stability and comes with an easy to handle sail package. The yacht provides the interior ambiance of a much larger vessel and is finely finished with teak furniture and bulkheads give a feeling of comfort and quality. She has a full galley, spacious saloon area, an aft master cabin and a forward double berth with infill, both with great storage facilities.
Above deck she has a great sized cockpit which is wide and comfortable offering plenty of space to move around or to sit and relax with your guests.
The Hunter 306 sleeps up to 6 people in two cabins plus the main saloon. The saloon is entered from the cockpit by descending the shallow angled companionway steps. The extensive use of wood together with the layout and quality of construction make this feel a warm and inviting place to be. The cream and white linings, plentiful windows and clear port lights give a sense of light and space.
To port is the L shaped galley with a gimballed 2 burner hob with oven and grill, stainless steel sink with pressurised hot and cold water, a top loading fridge box and a good range of storage. 240V microwave situated at the companionway steps. Excellent hull mounted storage. Immediately behind the galley is door to the aft cabin.
The after cabin has storage locker and a large double berth running across the full width of the boat with more storage underneath. 12V deck head and reading lights.
To the right of the companionway steps is the heads compartment comprising a sea toilet with holding tank, sink and shower with pressurised hot and cold water, mirrors and a variety of storage.
Moving forward into the main saloon there is L shaped seating to starboard for 3 to 4 people, a straight seat to port with a folding table leaf adds space for 2 more. The table drops allowing an additional double berth to be made. More storage space can be found under the seats.
Moving forward again the fore-cabin is separated from the saloon by a wooden door. There is a deck hatch overhead for ventilation, light and access. The berth has a removable infill allowing twin or double configurations.
This Hunter 306 is well equipped for extended coastal cruising. Indeed the present owner has circumnavigated the UK in her. The inventory includes:
This yachts hull and deck are constructed of GRP with a good quality finish to the mouldings. White topsides finished in hi-gloss gelcoat with smart blue decoration. Cast iron fin keel with 1,157 kgs giving a ballast ratio of 36%. Counter hung rudder with wheel steering. Large bathing platform with built in ladder allowing easy access back on board after swimming or boarding from a tender.
Simulated Teak decking in the cockpit adds a touch of class and comfort under foot. White non slip locker tops with a removable rear section to bathing platform.Binnacle mounted wheel steering which incorporates a drop leaved table with drinks holders. Grey contrasting non slip surfaces where required make moving around the spacious decks and coach roof safer. Cockpit has storage lockers and a dedicated gas locker with space for two bottles. Stainless steel bow fitting with roller and large capacity anchor locker in bow with manual windlass.
Stainless steel pulpit and push-pit linked with twin steel guard rails also help keep your crew on-board. The push-pit incorporates 2 seats, outboard engine storage and mounting for a horseshoe life buoy. These are some of the features that make this a comfortable and well thought out boat.
Vessel powered by a very economical and reliable Yanmar 2GM20F inboard diesel engine. This 18hp unit has been regularly maintained and last annual service was in late 2020 at the end of the season. Due to Covid lockdowns the engine has done little since. The engine is situated in a sound proofed compartment beneath the companionway steps and allows easy access for daily checks and servicing. The saildrive unit is fitted with a 2-bladed fixed propeller. Engine start panel in cockpit.
12/220V system with bank of 3X12V batteries fitted with a rotary style isolators switch. The batteries were replaced in 2018 and are recharged via the engine alternator or by the battery charger when attached to shore power. 12/220V panel at chart table with controls for onboard functions. Cabin sockets and lights.
Bermudan sloop, fractional rigged yacht with deck stepped, alluminium mast and boom. Backstay less rig with swept back spreaders with diagonals. This allows a larger genoa to be carried giving better performance in light airs. Mainsheet operated on track above cockpit leaving area uncluttered.
Semi battened mainsail mounted in a stack pack on boom with lazy jack lines. Lines are led aft to helm for short handed sailing. Roller reefing genoa with a Furlex reefing system. The sail has a protective UV strip.
Yacht has a cruising chute which hasn't seen a great deal of action. All associated halyards and turning blocks are in place.
