For the sailor seeking a modern Italian-style performance cruiser that is strong, stiff, fast, safe, luxurious, well-specified and easily handled, the new MORE BOATS 55 is the perfect solution.

    FURTHER COMMENTS:

Designed by renowned Italian naval architects Cossutti Yacht Design, and built at a cutting-edge brand new facility in Split, Croatia, MORE BOATS is a new range of high-performance, beautifully engineered and constructed aft cockpit cruising yachts designed for both the highly-demanding private and charter markets.

    MANUFACTURER’S COMMENTS:

The More 55 is characterised by a modern design and this reflected in the hull, appendages and deck layout as well as the sail plan which has been studied very carefully. The deck shows a great attention to the details; all the control lines have been hidden into the proper recess to give all the comforts of a flush deck.
The interiors have been designed taking care of each detail, looking at the best ergonomic layout to give to the owner a unique feeling, as well as the option of several interior layouts with up to 5 cabins plus crew cabin possible.

From the structural point of view, the More 55 is designed to be stiff and to withstand the natural loadings from the rig and keel. The hull has been laminated with an optimised lay-up including unidirectional and biaxial glass fibres. Different densities of foam core have been used in the different areas of the hull and deck to assure the proper balance between weight and stiffness, for example in the forward area, where there are high slamming loads, a high-density core has been used in combination with single skin laminate. Single skin laminates are also used in areas of through-hull fittings etc.

The central structure of the boat is dominated by a stainless steel frame sitting beneath the saloon sole which is designed to take the high loads from the mast, shrouds and keel and transfer them smoothly and efficiently to the hull. This frame is connected mechanically to the bulkheads. The remaining structure of the boat is made by longitudinal and transversal stiffeners laminated in a female mould with a combination of glass bi-axial end carbon unidirectional fibres, glued and tabbed to the hull.

All the bulkheads are made of plywood apart collision bulkheads which are located fore and aft, both of which are made of a composite material to offer a better resistance with less weight.

The T-fin keel is assembled with a cast iron fin and a lead bulb. The keel is then laminated in GRP to ensure accurate foil geometry. The appendages have been designed to have the best sailing performances with perfect manoeuvrability. The rudder is also supported by a stainless steel stock, and the rudder quadrant is easily accessible at deck level for increased safety and ease of maintenance.

    Special Features:

Maurizio Cossutti designed the More Boats 55 the only way Italians know how to design – to be beautiful. The modern lines and elegant features are emphasised with vertical backward inclining of the bow. Both the exterior and the interior profit from aligned windows which give the exterior a sporty, somewhat mischievous look, and privacy with natural lighting to the interior.

Since the yacht was designed to accommodate comfortably the crew during leisure sailing, to offer enough eating and lounging area to 12 people, it had to offer also enough space in the cockpit for the crew participating in a regatta. The yacht has several versions, and the future owner can choose among the three general versions with additional features available upon request, all in terms of possible offers. To achieve so much space without adding to the height of the cabins and overall yacht appearance, it took a lot of skill and knowledge, which is the best description of the cooperation between More Boats and Cossutti Design.

    Exteriors:
More 55 opens a door to a new age in performance cruising. Designed by famous Maurizio Cossutti More 55 is an uncompromised beauty and luxurious elegance combined with the best features of a sporty yacht. With classic mast and gennaker specially reinforced and equipped for performance sailing, this boat is ideal for all those seeking adrenaline, but also for those looking for peaceful and luxurious family sailing. Innovative solutions, magnificent interiors and excellent performances of this impressive and powerful yacht are its best characteristics which sets it apart from all yachts in this range.

More 55 proves to be the perfect performance cruising yacht easily converted into a great pleasure yacht.

Combination of Italian design, Croatian shipbuilding tradition that dates far back to the 11th century and Swedish ocean racing knowledge, guarantee that you will have experience of a life time either taking part in a regatta with friends, or while experiencing some offshore ocean sailing, or just enjoying with family in pristine and warm waters.

    Interiors:

When it comes to the interior the main drive was to create high quality classic interior with a modern touch.
Everything that you see inside the boat was selected and made with attention given to detail, quality and functionality. First and foremost it was important to create woodwork of the highest possible quality, made from real teak handpicked in Burma, dried for two years and then treated.

It blends together in a perfect harmony of colours and lines to make you feel like home. All furniture for More 55 is made by one of the best luxury yachts factories in the world, Bobic Yacht and Aircraft Interiors.
All furniture is additionally protected with two extra layers of varnish. Plywood is marine Okoume of the highest quality.

Floors are made from Alucore aluminium with wood looking finish laminate, which guarantees that you will have no moisture in future and your floors will be the same for many years to come. Highest quality hinges, door handles and locks. Cushions are made from nanotechnology in Aqua clean material.

    DESIGNER’S COMMENTS:

“When we started discussing new More boats with Milan, Silvia, Einar and Leo, at the end of dinner Alessandro my partner and myself were both thrilled and scared about the time schedule for the new More 55… Less than 2 years later not only several 55s are successfully sailing, but 2 new yards have been established, and the new More 40 is under construction, so not only initial expectations were reached but exceeded.

One of the reasons of this success, in my opinion, is that we had few but extremely clear milestones: main dimensions, boat character, internal layout requirements, and of course our best effort in marrying performances plus a bit of external Italian design with the need of proper spaces and volumes for cruising and charter. Another key point is the strict collaboration with Pulse design team, responsible for internal design, detailed engineering, and precious link with production to see what we have conceived and seen on paper and computer screens, translated into reality.

We are proud of the results, More 55 is a great sailing machine, all people that have sailed both for cruising or racing really enjoyed time spent with her on the water, and is the best reward for the work of all the team,

    MANUFACTURER’S HISTORY:

“Love and passion for boats and sailing made us start a charter business with two small boats 15 years ago. This same passion led us to start building our first sailing yacht 15 years later. All those years we were in constant search for the perfect yacht that would suit all our needs.

A yacht that would be modern and fast, with excellent sailing performance, but on the other hand also comfortable for leisure sailing with family and friends. A yacht made from high quality long lasting material, with a strong but light hull, high-quality durable interior and last but not least at a good price. After a lot of years of searching, we have decided to finally make it.

The first boat we have built for us and we only want the best for us. Now we build boats for you with the same spirit and attitude. Our mission is to design and build innovative sailing yachts of excellent quality. We want to exceed our clients’ expectations in terms of quality, comfort, performance, reliability, resale value and after sales service. There is no compromising on quality. We make your dreams of sailing true.
    Sail the world with us!”

Silvia Mandić – Owner of MORE BOATS
