Having owned it for the last 6 yrs, it's time to let go as I don't have the time for her anymore. So to save her being just sat on the drive waiting for that next fun filled day... It is with regret that I now have FOR SALE my lovely Shakespear Mustang 14 Waverider - 14ft day / speed boat with 40hp Evinrude 2 stroke outboard.

Early to Mid 90's boat and engine both in excellent condition.
Boat shows minor age related scuffs but nothing to worry about. Interior is of red, grey & white trim and is in great condition for age. It has been well looked after and has been stored dry. No water or mould damage. Comes with to fit red tonneau cover.
The Evinrude 40hp outboard has been converted from automaticVRO to manual pre-mix fuel/2 stroke oil mix at 50:1. Has manual choke for start up on throttle column, pumps water very well and usually starts first time.
Outboard recently serviced with new plugs, gearbox oil changed and new impeller.
    Portable 22l fuel tank.
    Recent 12V battery.

Comes with contrasting foul weather / sun canopy (which is a god send for the unpredictable british summer) as not many boats of this type have one... so get wet at your peril!!... This is one reason I bought her in the first place.

Inboard and outboard electrics all working: Switched exterior Port & Starboard navigation & rear telescopic transom lights.
Switched interior LED illumination to foot-well, sides and battery/fuel compartment.
    Twin Tone air horns.

This boat really is in good condition and will make an ideal first boat, excellent for cruising inland rivers & waterways. I have never had it in salt water and I was assured by the previous owner neither he or the owners before him have had it in salt water. The engine condition reflects this with no sign of salt build or salt water corrosion.
It cruises well at low/medium speeds and planes very quickly and smooth at high speed. You will get approx. 25mph out of her at full throttle (Yes, ok, you may laugh... 25mph!!.. but trust me, on narrow waterways and rivers, it feels a lot faster)..
Cheap to insure depending on insurance provider, so shop around.

Trailer is un-braked with pivoted rollers for easy launch & retrieval. It is in good all round condition with new tyres all round inc. spare. Recent wheel bearings replaced. Effortless pull on the road with minimal bounce.
    Trailer board electrics included.

The negative bits: The outboard tilt assist mechanism is inoperable and has been since I got the boat. Replacements are like rocking horse s**t and are VERY expensive even if you do find a second hand one, let alone a new one and they are prone to seizing either up or down, which again is costly. You could convert to electric tilt but again at your expense! It's now manual so it does require a bit of muscle to lift and lower and to allow insertion of a retainer bar to keep the engine lifted for transit. Therefore it has no trim but this does not affect the boat at all due to the position and push of the engine and as said, it planes very well and even.
The Kill switch does not work, however, I do have a replacement.
No speedo (Not really an issue, I used a speed app on my phone). It has fitted an expensive NASA speedo/range system but this is wired for an old Yamaha? engine with cables/plug still attached.

This baby is ready to go!!!.. Just needs one a good careful owner who will look after her (Please!) and she will return pleasurable family days out..

Full outdoor weather cover in good condition (no rips or repairs).
3 x life jackets (unused).. 1 childs full fit & 2 Adult inflating.
    2 x 5 litre & 1 x 10 litre fuel cans.
    3 x fenders (1 large & 2 very small)
    2 standard & 1 emergency (Orange) oars.
2 stroke oil (what's left anyway)
    Gear Oil (as above)
