Description

‘Kira’ is an original 2002, South African built, Cape Cutter 19. She has a navy blue hull and an ivory deck. She is gaff rigged with a length of 7.2m, beam of 2.2m and a lifting keel giving a maximum draught of 1.3m and a minimum of just 45cm. The hull is fitted with bearers below the waterline which allow her to dry out. She has 4 berths, two side berths and a triangular forward berth.

She has spent most of her summers moored in fresh water on the “River Frome” and sailed in and around Poole harbour. Out of season she has been stored under cover in a barn. Since 2019 she has been moored on Coniston Water.

Having stepped up from sailing dinghies to my first ‘big boat’ I’ve sadly decided to part with her to go back to smaller boats which are easy to beach land.
She is Gaff rigged and the Main, Staysail and Genoa are all in good condition.

The original mast was replaced in 2010 with a new mast from Honnor marine, the boom, gaff & bowsprit are all original. The boat and rigging are all in good working order and she comes with a purpose built, winch equipped and fully braked road trailer with brand new tyres.

She also has a Honda 5HP 4 stroke outboard with a 12 litre remote fuel tank, all purchased in 2009. The engine has only been used for three seasons and is in excellent condition.

I’ve really enjoyed owning her but made the decision to revert back to smaller boats.
She is currently moored on Coniston Water.
