Freedom - TWENTY SEVEN for sale

    Sailing BoatsYachtsFreedomTWENTY SEVEN

The Freedom sailboats have unstayed rigs, meaning that the mast is freestanding and not supported by the normal set of wires called standing rigging. Garry Hoyt, a champion sailor and noted maverick, created the unstayed rigs to give "freedom" from the inefficient sail shapes of traditional sloop rigs as well as to give "freedom" from the compression and maintenance issues associated with standing rigging.

The mast is made of aluminium and is set well forward on the boat.

This means most of the sail area is contained in the mainsail.

Jibs sails can either be overlapping or self-tending. The boat is self tacking.

Prelude is a well balanced yacht and offers an extraordinary amount of internal space for her size.

She sails well and the self tacking jib is a great help.

The boat is kept in beautiful condition and the lack of mast supports (unstayed) makes the deck spacious.

She is quite unique and it’s unlikely you will see another.

The yacht is berthed at East Cowes Marina.
